You might find a bauble or two laying around...
Concepts below created by me Oct. 12, 2005 after a game discussion with an MTGO friend:

Magic "whip" cards:  (Color/Name/Type & cost & effect/Flavor text)

White    Damask Whip  Instant for WWW: Gain one life for each creature in play and lose one life for each creature in all graveyards.
"A single bad habit will mar an otherwise faultless character, as an ink-drop soileth the pure white page." Hosea Ballou (1771 - 1852)

Blue     Velvet Whip  Instant for XU: Tap or untap X target permanents. You take a point of damage for each permanent tapped or untapped.
"To manage men, one ought to have a sharp mind in a velvet sheath." George Eliot (1819 - 1880)

Black    Cordovan Whip (cordovan is a soft leather from goats)  Instant for BB: Target player reveals his or her hand and then discards one card of each type (sorcery, instant, creature, land, artifact, enchantment) of card in his hand. You take a point of damage for each card discarded.
"Guilt is the source of sorrow,/ 'tis the fiend,/Th' avenging fiend,/ that follows us behind/ With whips and stings." Nicholas Rowe (1674 - 1718) English writer, poet.

Red      Madras Whip  Instant for RRR: Do two points of damage to each creature and player. You take a point of damage for each creature and player damaged.
"In a battle all you need to make you fight is a little hot blood and the knowledge that it's more dangerous to lose than to win." George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

Green    Tabby Whip  Instant for 2G: Do two points of damage to each creature with flying. You take one point of damage for each creature with flying put into a graveyard this turn.
"The Owl and the Pussy-Cat went to sea/ In a beautiful pea-green boat,/ They took some honey, and plenty of money,/ Wrapped up in a five-pound note." Edward Lear (1812 - 1888)

Artifact   Burlap Whip  Artifact for 3: Pay 2 and tap: Reveal the top card of target player's library. If that card is a creature, remove it from the game underneath Burlap Whip. When Burlap Whip leaves play, put all creatures underneath Burlap Whip into play, and each player takes one point of damage for each creature put into play.
"Doorbells are like a magic game,/ Or the grab-bag at a fair --/ You never know when you hear one ring/ Who may be waiting there." Rachel Field (1894 - 1942)

Gold      Cat o' Nine Tails  Enchantment for WUBRG: Pay 3: You may discard two cards to do one point of damage to any creature or player, gain 2 life, and put a 1/2 blue Sailor token with islandwalk into play.
"Whipping and abuse are like laudanum; you have to double the dose as the sensibilities decline."
Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811 - 1896)

Tempted to steal something? The Sea Sprite in the corner might have something to say about that.
